What class were you when you took high school physics?

Or what quality are you in if you are currently taking high school physics? I was a senior when I took it. When I was in school all took it as a senior. I am currently tutoring a boy, if physics as a sophomore. She says its common in her school to take physics in this grade. Personally I think that she and a lot of the other kids at her school, it takes far too early. I do not think she has the necessary mathematical background to get the most out of topic. She had only one year algebra and geometry, she just started. No trigonometry yet. No wonder America is falling behind other countries in science education.

Senior for me also. It sounds like they let her into it without adequate math, especially if she needs a coach this early in school year.
