Point of Sale (POS) software problems. Any recommendations?

A friend's small restaurant run POS software from Microsystems. Micros is a large undertaking but the software is plagued by recurring problems, and Micro's exorbitant charges for support. I'm considering KreaPOS Hospitality (Kreatech) and ezPower Restaurant (Denver Research). Which provides better value for money, or would you suggest something else?
